Cristina Molina

Originally from Miami, FL, Cristina Molina received a BA in psychology and a BFA in studio art from Florida International University. She earned an MFA with a concentration in Art + Technology from the University of Florida in Gainesville in 2012. Molina’s art practice stems from an interest in abstract psychological themes such as affect, behavioral motivation, and interpersonal communication. Technologies of food, electronic media, sculpture, and performance are utilized to produce immersive installations/situations that often engage an audience member as a participant in the work.

Cristina Molina’s work has been exhibited in international and national venues such as , El Palacio de Bellas Artes in the Dominican Republic, the Gallery at the Universita Degli Studi di Genova in Genoa, Italy, The Dialogue Space at Proyecto ‘Ace in Buenos Aires Argentina, ArteAmericas, North Miami MOCA, SCOPE international art fair, Frost Museum of Art in Miami, Harn Museum of art in Gainesville, Girls Club Collection in Ft. Lauderdale, Dorsch Gallery, Nina Torres Gallery, Diaspora Vibe Gallery, and the 6th Street Container in Miami.

Cristina Molina currently resides in New Orleans and teaches in the New Media + Animation area at the department of Fine and Performing arts at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond.
