Open Call To Artist Art Basel 2nd Year



The ArtLink is celebrating its 2nd Art Basel exhibition. We are calling all artists to be part of the most important art week in the United States.

The exhibition will run concurrent with Art Basel, Scope, Art Asia, Pulse, Red Dot, Nada, Design Miami and others, during Dec. 1-4, 2011 and it will be extended up to the Wynwood Gallery Walk on Saturday December 10th.

Contemporary art by emerging and mid career artists, national or international, will be accepted in the following categories: digital art, mix media, painting, photography, printmaking, drawing, sculpture and installation.

We are looking for contemporary art capable to express this year theme’s exhibition “Escape”. We want to honor those artists whose art have escaped from the past bringing transformation or renovation to itself;  art that have left a mark in the artist’s “modus operandi” provoking in them a feeling of satisfaction because a new way of creation. Anything that has changed in their art: a new process, a new theme, new tools, technique, change of medium, new materials, colors, etc. anything that have significance for the artist in terms of developing their creative process.

No personal deliveries will be accepted. Submissions postmarked after October 7, 2011 will not be considered for jury and will not have reimbursement of any type.

Entrants must be 18 years of age or older and full time artists.
All works submitted must have been completed within the past 2 years, and must be original and created by the artist.
Artworks participating last year will not be considered.
Artists can apply for only one medium. Artists can submit up to 3 pieces to be juried.
Please include a CD with up to 3 images of each work submitted in high resolution JPEG format.

Be sure to include front, back and side pictures in case of sculptures.
Provide information about each piece submitted (Height x Width x Depth. Indicate whether inches or feet, medium, materials, artist’s name, etc).
Displays must be professional, framed and aesthetically pleasing and should be ready for display.

Works must be maximum 60″x60” in any direction, including frame.
Applications will not be accepted if there is any deficiency or if information is missing.

$30.00 non‐refundable application fee for up to 3 entries.

The ArtLink takes a small commission of 30% of the purchase price on sales as a result of the exhibition at The ArtLink, its gift shop or web site.

All artists will be notified about the decision via email by October 17, 2011
Selected artists and their art works will be presented online in our web site.

The images submitted must clearly represent only the work that is intended to be displayed or sold during the exhibition for the jury to perform a fair selection process.
Up to 25 art works with the highest markings will be selected for this exhibition. Decisions are based on the quality of the artwork and its concept. All decisions are final.
