OPEN CALL TO ARTISTS – Art Basel Week 2012

The ArtLink Gallery is proud to sponsor its 3rd year exhibition during Art Basel Miami Beach and celebrates the anniversary with an open call for artists to be protagonist of the most important art week in the United States.
As an artist owned gallery, The ArtLink was born to help talented emerging artists through real exhibition opportunities at our convenient location right in between the Wynwood Arts District and The Design District in Miami. Since the beginning in 2010, our commitment is to facilitate artists with all the tools they may need to build a ramp towards a successful career having more exposure in solo or group shows at a very low commission on sales.

For 2012, we encourage artists to participate in our show ‘PARADOX- The closest point to reality” a fun, thoughtful and challenging art exhibition. The curatorial team is looking for contemporary art works depicting statements, propositions, or situations that seems to be absurd or contradictory, but in fact are or may be true, considering true also a subjective reality. We encourage artists to challenge the accepted notions of art, to go beyond the approved ways of producing art and present a powerful paradox that cannot be denied its place in this exhibition. We look for aesthetically and conceptually powerful art, a revelation of great art for the Miami art scene.

Contemporary art by talented emerging, mid-career and established artists, national or international, will be accepted in the following categories: digital art, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, drawing, sculpture, text art, spoken word, installation, book arts, objects, performance and video. Selected videos must include the necessary electronic support to play it in the gallery. No wall projections will be considered. Performance art shall not require large space and should occur at the same time as the entire exhibition.
The exhibition will run concurrent with Art Basel, Scope, Art Asia, Pulse, Red Dot, Aqua, Nada, Design Miami and others, from Dec 6 to Dec 20th 2012.
